Car selection and ‘Entering’

Drivers shall choose their cars before Round 1. This will be the car they use for the rest of the season. Starting in the wrong car will result in a post-race penalty of 1 minute!

For each round drivers must tick in (before 1800 race day), in the discord to show availability. If you fail to confirm attendance before 1800, your slot will be allocated to the first available reserve. For any full time driver who can’t make a round, a reserve will take your place. This allocation will be decided on first to tick in as a reserve and so forth.

General Race/Qualifying Procedures

If you disconnect during qualifying then you will have the opportunity to rejoin at the end of qualifying and start from the back. If a disconnection happens during the race you will be given the points of the last position in the race. Rage Quits will be given Zero points.

Qualifying Procedure will consist of 10 minutes with no tyre or fuel wear. Drivers must be wary of other cars in front and behind them. If the car behind is on a flying lap, and you are not, say you’ve gone off track and ruined that lap, you must not impede them. If you encounter a driver in front whom is slower than you, and they are also on a flying lap, they DO NOT have to let you pass. When starting a lap it is down to the car behind to create a suitable gap to the car ahead for their lap. Any incidents caused in this manner will be penalised. Any incidents should be reported to the stewards.

Strategies and pit stops

During a ‘dry’ race, drivers can race on any compound (mandatory tyres will be added also). NO mixed set tyres to be used (front – soft, rear-medium) as this will incur a penalty.

During the race TWO different compounds must be used. You can do multiple stops but two compounds must be used. Failure to do so will result in a 1-minute penalty, added post-race.

The only exception to this is if it is or has become a ‘wet’ race.

Penalties given in game will NOT be removed.

Driving Standards

At any moment on track a driver must do their absolute best to avoid contact with another car. This also includes extra awareness and care in the opening lap, when there are several cars all in close proximity. At no time can a car be driven slowly, erratically or in a manner that can be deemed dangerous.

As soon as a car is in position to be lapped and the blue flag is being waved, you must allow the faster car to pass at the easiest opportunity and stay predictable. Any driver who doesn’t allow the faster car through will receive a penalty.

It is strongly advised to not overtake a car that has lapped you unless you can significantly pull away and not disturb their race. Incidents caused in this manner will receive a penalty.

When sideways or backwards on track you must wait to return to the track in a safe manner (Ghosting will be OFF). Any unsafe re-joins will receive a penalty.

When attacking/defending a position, you must always leave space for the car next to you. When attacking you will need to back out unless you are significantly alongside. This is deemed by the front axle of the attacking are being inline or ahead of the defending car’s rear axle. Steward judgement will be the deciding factor in any incidents in these situations.

It is the overtaking cars responsibility to make the move safely and cleanly. If contact is made to make a position it must be given back in a safe manner. Don’t just slam on the brakes as there may be cars behind, and it causes a bigger incident. This will also be awarded a penalty if it happens.

On straights one defensive move can be made. Weaving is not acceptable and will result in a penalty.

Drivers are expected to finish the race and should NOT rage-quit if it’s not going your way. First rage-quit will be a warning and any after that will result in a ban for the rest of the season.

You can NOT park at the side of the road for any reason. This can lead to yellow flags and drivers unfairly receiving a 3-second penalty in game. This will result in a qualifying ban for the next round.

Reporting of incidents

Incidents shall be reportable in the discord. A short video (showing both perspectives with race data) and explanation of incident should be provided for the stewards to look into. Reports should be in within 48hrs or the race start. So any report received after the Saturday at 2030hrs, will not be investigated.

The driver being reported may respond in a respectful manner. No one else is to put their input into an incident that did not involve them. Any incident penalties shall be enforced before the next round on the calendar.

In-game Penalties

In-game penalties will NOT be removed.

If serving an in-game penalty, you must move OFF the racing line to serve the penalty. You must also be aware of faster cars coming from behind when re-joining the racing line after serving your penalty.

ANYONE FOUND TO BE USING THE ‘PENALTY TRICK’ ON THE GRASS WILL BE DISQUAILIFED FROM THE ROUND AND WILL ALSO BE DISQUALIFED FROM ENTERING THE NEXT ROUND!

Stewarding Penalties

When a driver is awarded a penalty, they will also receive ‘penalty points’. The number of points awarded depends on the category of the incident.

  • Minor incident – eg. Push to pass, causing contact, minor collisions etc. = 1pp 0-10 sec
  • Major incident – eg. Causing a collision, weaving, most dive bombs etc = 2pp 5-15sec
  • Extreme incident – eg. Causing a major incident with heavy damage or with multiple cars, intention blocking etc = 3pp 15+sec

Points will last all season, with major incidents potentially going into the following season. Drivers accumulating too many points will be punished as follows:

  • 5 points – Qualifying ban for the next round
  • 8 points – Race ban for the next race
  • 10 points – season ban

Any time penalties awarded will be added to your finishing time and may change the final race result.

If serving a qualifying ban you must not leave the garage on the round you are serving the ban. If you do you will receive a disqualification for that round and will not be able to partake in that round.

Tier Promotion and Relegation

The tiers will work on a Promotion and relegation system. The number of drivers in the promotion/relegation zone will be 2 or 3 drivers. This will depend on lobby size, but will be announced before the season opener.

Example: The Tier 2 champion and Runner-up will get promoted to Tier 1 for the next season and the bottom 2 of Tier 1 get relegated to Tier 2 for the following season.

Good luck all and have fun!
